Living a positive life
Everyone wants to have all that is positive and good in life but that is not all that happens. Life is filled with both positive and negative aspects and often it is what people decide to focus on that determines how happy their life will be like.
Think about a typical day. If you happen to only notice the negative aspects of the day what would happen the following day or in the evening?
How well can your day be if you wake up and all you see are the negative aspects of the day instead of the positive?
When you want your life to be better, you focus on the positive
To most people it is exhausting and it affects their morale. When all you see is negative, you are likely to be more irritable and pass the negative energy to other people. For instance, after having a bad day at work you go home and quarrel with your partner over the most trivial things and end up ruining a planned dinner. That is an example of negativity leading to more negativity.
One way of focusing on the positive is rephrasing all the things that you saw in the negative light positively. One way of rephrasing things is changing negative thoughts. According to psychology, positive thinking is a skill that you can learn with techniques and exercises.
When faced with a challenge or a difficulty that might lead to negativity think of the best possible future. Imagine the best possible future and write it down. While thinking about the best possible future, try not to think about what could go wrong and only focus on what could go write.
Such an exercise helps your mind to focus only on the positives enabling you to learn to rephrase any negative situation into positive.
With positive rephrasing, you should only focus on what you don’t want only for a short time. Only focus on the negative long enough for you to change it to positive. If you want to be fit, focus on the benefits you will gain after becoming fit and not the obstacles that you may encounter and hinder you from fitness.
