What is the value of knowledge?
An essential part of yourself is the mind which houses the most fundamental thing in human life, knowledge. Human beings are the most advanced of all creations because they can use the mind to achieve greater things in life. Yet, people still struggle with living a fulfilling life.
The differences in most individuals often lie in knowledge and how they use knowledge in life. As you start the journey to achieving greater heights in life, think about the knowledge you have accumulated thus far in life, whether it’s through education or life’s experience, and ask yourself;
How valuable has all that Knowledge been to your life? With everything that you know, how much have you done to benefit yourself and those close to you? Do you think the knowledge you have has elevated your life in any way? Should you continue accumulating more knowledge?
Case In Point
Case 1
Two people apply for the same job and they are invited for the interview. One of them has attained the highest education, while the other has attained considerable education but has spent more than five years gaining experience and applying their knowledge in different fields. The interviewer looks at their qualifications before choosing the best candidate.
Who do you think is the best candidate for the job and why?
Case 2
In sports, players learn from the coaches who have a lot of knowledge about the techniques of the sports. The players become the best at the sports yet the coaches can’t play as well as the players. The coaches only know the game. When a match is going on, the spectators watch the game and will often comment on what is happening on the field. The players however only use the knowledge gained from the coaches.
Who do you think is making the best use of knowledge?
In both of the above cases, there is one big difference and that is the action. Most people know more but do less. For instance, you probably know the best practices to keep you healthy and in shape, but are you healthy or in shape?
The value of knowledge comes only from the application

Often knowledge is not the problem when it comes to growing the mind, but the action. The application of knowledge on the other hand depends on the discipline. How much discipline you have will determine the actions you take and your ability to grow your mind.
